Benefits of powerflushing & system cleansing
Iron oxide deposits or magnetite (sludge) from an corroding radiator system can easily block up the narrow pipes inside a new boiler. For this reason, it’s essential that the correct level of system cleansing is selected and effectively carried out by a experienced heating engineer. If it is not done correctly, your new boiler could be damaged and any manufacturer warranty invalid.
Knowing how to use cleansing equipment and chemicals properly, is key for a successful result. We have been using Kamco powerflushers since 2004 and have developed a tried and tested method for highly effective powerflushing. In more recent years, Adey have entered the market with an alternative to powerflushing, using their Magnacleanse RapidFlush filter. This solution is a great option in some cases, however Kamco powerflushing continues to provide the most effective results.
Level 1: Basic chemical cleanse, using Adey MC3 Cleanser chemicals. No special equipment used.
Level 2: Adey RapidFlush, using an Adey Magnacleanse twin magnetic filter and Adey MC5 RapidFlush chemicals. This type of cleansing relies on the boiler or system pump to push the chemicals around the system.
Level 3: Professional Powerflush, using a Kamco powerflushing machine, Kamco magnetic filter and Kamco FX2 heavy duty powerflushing chemicals. This type of cleansing utilises the powerflushers high velocity pump, and can switch water flow directions to remove stubborn blockages.
All treatment levels are completed with a dose of Adey MC1+ Protector chemicals which protects against corrosion and scale.
Once your system has been cleansed, we recommend a Magnaclean Pro 2 filter is fitted for the very best in ongoing system and boiler protection. This high quality magnetic filter fits to the heating return pipe before the boiler, collecting any remaining magnetite or corrosion deposits, before the water passes back through the boiler to be reheated. A Magnaclean Pro 2 filter is an excellent investment, for which the cost can be recouped several times over through prolonged boiler life and reduced breakdowns.
